Happy Holidays

It's what 3 days post Christmas?! Well darn..... Happy Holidays. I've been meaning to blog more but time has gotten the best of me. As you all know baby T was in the hospital for RSV. If you don't know what that is Google it heheheee. Anywho, he's out of the hospital and home acting himself lol. I was going to blog for Christmas but I figured I would just enjoy the holiday. Next year I plan to blog a lot more often as well as keep up with vlogging. Are you up for following that journey? I hope your enjoying following my journey. If there's anything you'd like for me to discuss or review please feel free to message me and I'll do my best to get it done. Also, be on the lookout for another Q & A both on the blog and Vlog. Take care!!

A Moment of Reflection

Today marks baby's 4th month of life. I'm still in awwe and shock that I am, now, a mum of a beautiful baby boy. I still can't believe it sometimes. I find myself looking at him a lot and just holding him. Whispering in his little ear saying I love you baby and I'm so glad your here. He has no idea how much life and joy he brings me. I'm sure my hubby feels the same. I'm always playing with him to try to put a smile on his face. His smile and coo's are EVERYTHING to me. If your like me, and have gone through infertility, you know the struggle. It's not an easy thing to overcome. I remember back in May 2012 going to this RE thinking it'll never happen. I won't ever be a mom and just have to face the fact that we'll have to adopt. Needless to say, my RE rocks!! We got our BFP and it was awesome. I called my RE right upon the test results, yes at 5am LOL! I just, I just can't believe I'm a mom FINALLY. After so many failed cycles, struggling with PCOS, and also not knowing I needed surgery because my tubes were blocked. Wanna see my Introduction or some of my most F.A.Q's about my Infertility Journey so far? Click the links!

So tell me....... What's your infertility story? Any updates on your journey so far?

All About OPSEC

What's OPSEC? It is keeping the our enemy countries from obtaining critical DoD information. It protects U.S. operations planned, in progress, or completed. Keep you and your SO information OFF any and all social medias such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. I know it's easy to just blurt out how many days or months until your SO returns home but you do not, by any means, want to do that. You don't want to risk the chance of orders being rewritten all because you opened your big mouth and said something you shouldn't have. I can't even count on my hands how many times I've seen milso's writting out their plans for when they come home as well as the exact time, date, and location of where they are or will be for the homecoming. That in itself is a BIG no no! I do not post anything about my husbands whereabouts while he's deployed. I just say the country tops. If it's getting closer to him coming home I don't say I have this many days, etc. I say something like "it's getting closer to hubby coming home and I have to start shopping." That does not disclose when he's coming home or anything like that. It's a very vague response that he's coming home. With that being said, I hope this blog helps you understand OPSEC just a little bit more because it's one of the failed things I see A LOT in the Military AND MilSO communities. It goes unnoticed and in reality the enemy is always watching!

So tell me....... Have you witnessed someone breaking the OPSEC rules? If so, what did you do to fix this situation?

See ya next time! -NaNa

Daddy's Reaction to Baby Gender

I didn't get to Vlog much of my OB visits due to their rules so I would pop on my YouTube channel and let you know how things went. The one I really wanted to record was Hubby's reaction to the gender reveal, which happened to be priceless might I add. So it was on a Monday morning and I had to pee soooooooo bad. As we all know, with the gender reveal they want you to have a full bladder so there's a better chance of baby cooperating and showing the "goods" LOL. So they call me back and we are like in a line.. Me, Hubby, and Brother in law w/ my mom on the phone :) Once we're in the room and settled they slobber my belly with jelly to see our little bean. She goes through the scan of measuring the baby's head, legs, etc. Then she looks at baby's organs to make sure everything is functioning properly and baby looks healthy. Now, on to the goods. She can't get a good view of it so she had me turn to my left side. Baby finally separates legs and POW it's a boy. I instantly say Holy Mother of........ and the Tech was like "don't you say it" and I said I wasn't going to curse LOL! I started laughing and was like Oh my wow OH MY WOW and my brother in law was sitting there smiling as well. He knew. At this point my poor husband was clueless. He was like "I don't understand what I'm looking at here". So the Tech wrote on the screen " IT'S A........ BOY" and my husband started screaming I knew itttttttt!! We all busted out laughing. That was a good day. It was hilarious hahahaaa. She printed out a butt load of pictures for us and I heard mommy screaming on the phone "What are we going to do with a boy?" I said, I guess we'll find out then won't we hahahaa. It was a priceless moment and a moment I'll never forget. Just like when I found out we were pregnant, the bloodwork to confirm it, the first time seeing the baby at the RE's office, see his growth at each scan, and of course the birth :)

So tell me...... What was your husbands reaction to the baby's Gender? Was he surprised like mine? Was he excited of the outcome?

See ya next time! -NaNa

How I told Hubby

It's hilarious watching our SO when you tell them your going to be a daddy. I know for me it was. It was priceless and I wish I could've caught it on camera but unfortunately I couldn't. As you all know I'm a military spouse so there are times when hubby will be away for a while. That being said, this was one of those times. Hubby was away on a TDY. He knew the exact date of when I was suppose to test.... he's that into our TTC journey hehehee. So , I started testing 4 or 5 days before I hit my 15DPO to test. Boom, they were coming out faint positive but with doing injectables and trigger shots you can't get your hopes up UNTIL that 15th DPO! It gets to that 15th day and I tested that morning around 5-6am with the real deal test. Digital. I, of course, grab my camera so my subbies can witness the same thing with me. I wait, not even a full 60 seconds, and it pops up PREGNANT and I almost hit the floor in a wave of shock! I could not believe through all the surgeries, injectable cycles, and everything that it finally happened. WE GOT OUR BFP!!!! I wasn't going to tell hubby until he got home from his TDY.
I was going to give him a card that said "You Did It, Your Swimmers Won The Race" LOL! But I didn't get a chance to do that. Of course he called during the day to see if I had tested or not. I can't lie to him, he knows me like a book! :( I had already called my RE's office to let them know of the results and already went to the lab for bloodwork and got those results back. He asked and asked and asked, I couldn't help but laugh at how big of a baby he was to know if I tested or not. So I told him I tested, he wanted the results right then and there. He couldn't wait. He was like some kid in a candy store that you couldn't keep away from grabbing the candy from the jars..... yea that bad! So I tell him I'm going to text him a picture of the test. He calls me like I'm not understanding, what does this mean.... is it positive?! I tell him to look at the test closely. He's like okay. He blows the picture up on the screen and one of his home boys that's TDY with him screams yo wtf she's pregnant?! My husband says whattttttt, gets back on the phone with me and screams your pregnant your pregnant your pregnant tell me your pregnanttttttt. So I'm like hunny I hate to tell you but your going to be a daddy. He's like OMG OMG OMG did you call the doctor. I tell him yes I did, I've done the bloodwork and it is official I'm 100% pregnant. He's like okay so now what?!?! He's freaking. I tell him call down and put his ducks in a row. He's acting as if I just went into labor LOL! I tell him I've gotta go see the RE for an ultrasound to verify the baby is attached where it should be. He was like wait what?! I explained how the different pregnancies can be. He understood that.

Now I knew he wouldn't be home for a couple more days. It was around the time of Hurricane Sandy hitting the East coast. He told me they were moving to a different area to wait out the storm. I called my mom to talk to her a bit and to give her the good news after she saw the same text I sent hubby heheheee. She asked where he was, I told her he was TDY. Hubby called back to tell me where they were moving to and that he wouldn't be home for a while because depending Sandy depends on whether they'd have to step in and help out with the clean up. Pissed me off but what can I do?! Hurry up and wait right? haha. Anywho, we're talking and talking and he tells me their in the van heading to their resting area and that he'd call me back. I didn't hear from him til the next day. He text me saying that his friend has to give me a package that's suppose to go to him and it's job related. Meet his friend on base close to the Gym. Okay?? I'm like ok, you didn't give me any information like who he was, his phone number to call him, nothing like that. He later tells me it's a big package and to take the bigger car and make sure I'm dressed, not looking like a bum. I'm suppose to be there at 1300. I pull up and I text hubby saying hey I've gotta pee I'm going into the gym. I come out the gym and get back in the car and wait. I see this car pull up behind me so I'm like okay this must be his friend that's got the package for me, not realizing hubby is in the back seat. I notice the face at a glance and I jump out the car screaming I'm gonna kill you.... mind you I'm on base.... LOL! He's like surprise. I'm floored, he totally got me. I guess that's what I get for trying to surprise him huh?! It was an awesome surprise to say the least :)

So tell me,
-How did you tell your SO about the BFP?
-What was his reaction?
-Are you both super excited?!

Here's the Video of my reaction to my BFP

One.. Two.. Nursing Pillows

With being a new Mom-To-Be you can be overwhelmed with emotions as well as the whole "what to buy" itch.... Well, I'm here to tell you, it's like a head spin of Nursing Pillows to choose from. You would think it'd be easy to just waltz into a store, grab a cute nursing pillow and be done right? That's not the case in today's world, unfortunately. Not only are there sooooo many different choices, they look totally different from eachother and I'm not talking about the print/pattern either lol. So, lets take a minute to talk about a couple of the most popular nursing pillows shall we?

BOPPY NURSING PILLOW
This happens to be the pillow most talked about when nursing. Not sure on why that is. My guess is because it's multi-useful? You can use this pillow for nursing as well as prop the baby up so that he/she starts building up stamina in their back muscles to learn to sit up on their own or the well needed tummy time all babies dread! I've noticed that almost all stores that sell baby items have this pillow above the many nursing pillows to choose from.

MY BREAST FRIEND PILLOW
Although this pillow is very seldomly talked about it is, by far, this is the best pillow for nursing. Not only does it have the back support needed to comfort you with nursing, or the fact there's a pouch for you to place a spit rag or nipple cream, this pillow has been chosen as the number 1 Breastfeeding Support Pillow by Lactation Consultants.
